Artist's Comments

I recently learned about the existence of Artist Trading Cards when a Pokémon swap was being held. So of course, I had to get a Swap-Bot account [candykr0n] and DO IT.
This is the first of two I made; Mudkip!

I drew the Mudkips on the back side of some craft paper and cut them out, then repeated for all the different colored parts, and flipped them over. Then I lined everything up, glued stuff, drew on lines and blah blah blah. The sky and some minor details are painted.

Mudkip are belong to The Poké-People, not I.

Nice--I like how you've gotten the different layers to stand out, even when they're the same colour. Was that painted shading or just layering? (The fins on their cheeks make me wonder...)

Smile and nod.

The dimensions rely on the layering, but a few lines had to be drawn on in the parts that were flat; no real "shading" was done to anything though. Actually, not a whole lot of planning went into the details, so there's not much of a "method" to be unveiled other than that. :P

Are you trying to get intimate with my leprechaun?
